Description
The original VEB Feinmechanische Werkstatten Zella-Mehis/ Thur. mantel clock, a solid body made of oak veneer, brass fittings and dial as well as spherical glass are the hallmarks of mid-century modern clocks.
A mantel/table clock with a real oak wooden case, an extremely striking, minimalist brass dial, a spherical glass window with an elaborate brass ring, an eye-catcher.
The original Zella-Mehis chimney clock was made in Germany in the middle of the 20th century. the beautiful form referring to the art deco style has been modernized in a modernist fashion.
Item preserved in very good condition, fully functional. The clock has a quartz movement. The defect is a slight discoloration at the bottom of the body.
