Description
This is an early hand painted iron dial and comes from an 18th century longcase/grandfather clock. Circa 1800 to 1820. Dating source: Painted Clocks 1770-1870 by Brian Loomes. Published 1994.
As you can see there is some overall deterioration to the finish, some pitting and some wear. Overall the decorative paintwork is in quite good order with the detail in the arch being very well preserved. The hands are in good condition.

Fitted with a high quality battery quartz mechanism that is fully guaranteed for twelve months. Requires one AA battery which is supplied with the clock.
