Mid Century Steel Case Vintage Wall Clock Made In Leipzig By RFT, 1950s
£415
Description
This is a really amazing piece. One of the earliest ever made, this model is dated 18/07/1950. Made in Leipzig, East Germany by RFT (Rundfunk- und Fernmelde-Technik)
The steel case is in very good overall condition with modest wear considering it is over 70 years old. The oxblood colour paintwork has been hand-polished to a lovely deep lustre. The dial has aged to a lovely rich tobacco colour and there are signs of foxing, ageing and a couple of small scratches. The early version curved profile hands show just modest wear. The glass shows a little wear commensurate with its age.
45.5 x 45.5 cm, depth 8 cm.
Fitted with a high quality battery quartz mechanism that is fully guaranteed for twelve months. Requires one AA battery which is supplied with the clock.
