Historical view:
Łysa Góra is a small village located in the Podkarpackie Province. The fame of this town is associated with the activities of the Cooperative of Ceramic Products “Kamionka”, founded in the 1940s by a local activist, Franciszek Mleczka. The management of the plant was taken by the well-known Polish ceramic artist Bolesław Książek. A ceramic technical school was established next to the plant. Pottery from Łysa Góra has gained great popularity not only in Poland, but also abroad. In the 1950s, artists from Warsaw began to come to the factory. Łysa Góra became the center of Polish handicrafts. Jugs, pots, plates, tiles and larger ceramic products were produced. The workshops experimented with creating new glazes and searching for new technologies. The factory carried out a huge number of orders for facade decoration, many Polish houses are still decorated with “mosaics” from Łysa Góra.
