This glass vase from the Contrast Vase series was designed by Anna Ehrner for the Swedish glassworks Kosta Boda during the 1980s. The vase is made of high quality thick and heavy glass. Due to the hand-applied decoration of swirling and contrasting calligraphic lines, each Contrast Vase is a exceptional work of art. Rich in details and strongly expressive in the pattern, it will be perfect for many arrangements.
Anna Ehrner was born in 1948 in Danderyd. She is a Swedish designer and glass artist. She also worked as a teacher at Konstfack. Ehrner is an experimental and frugal stylist with a simple yet powerful design language and the ability to achieve brilliant brilliance in colors when used infrequently. Colorful swirling lines inside the glass mass have become Ehrner’s speciality, as well as the curly glass from the Basket and Energy series.
Kosta Boda is an innovative design with an individual approach. Established in 1742, the glassworks is the oldest in Sweden and continues to produce timeless and high-quality glass. Kosta Boda has retained its historical charm and traditional production methods while developing modern techniques that expand the possibilities of the designers’ expression. By creating glass that continues to delight today’s world and the next generation. In 1976 the company name was changed to Kosta Boda AB. Kosta Boda has been part of Orrefors Kosta Boda AB since 1989.
