West-German Ceramic Fat Lava 242-22 Vase from Scheurich, 1960s
£135
Description
This vase 242-22 was produced in the 1960s in West Germany by the Scheurich. This vase is made of ceramics using the fat lava technique. Partially covered characteristic network of cracks resulting from accidental defects, ageing of the glaze or an effect intended to decorate the products. Shiny purple-red and expressive emerald colour show the object a rare character. Scheurich has always used white clay, the colour of which is visible on the bottom edge of the vase. The vase is signed W.GERMANY and has the model number and the height of the vase. It also has an original label with the name of the company.
The Scheurich company was founded in 1928 by Scheuri cousins, but it was not until 1948 that it began producing home ceramics. It mainly produced vases and flower pots, but also ashtrays, candlesticks, cups, clock buffets, wall reliefs, etc. Interesting design and regular production made the company a huge success.
The vase is in original vintage condition. It has a small glued element that does not affect the visual and functional values. Another vase from this collection is available as a separate offer.
