French Console Hall Cupboard with Marble Top
£780
Description
A handsome French 19th century console style cupboard, this has a white marble top with grey flecks and an ebonised finish to the wooden base which has ormolu style decoration. The gilt inlaid central design of an urn with flowers is complemented with similar inlaid stringing, and there are two ornate gilt female busts at the corners of the serpentine shape. Inside, the cupboard has two removable shelves. This is a beautifully ornate piece for an entrance hall, with an ideal surface for a floral display and plenty of storage opportunity.
Dating to circa 1860, this is made of wood and marble, and originates from France.
In good general condition, this has the minor nibbles and marks expected for a piece of this age, but there is no obtrusive damage. The key is available and the lock functions.
