Beautiful Victorian mahogany twin pedestal, breakfront chiffonier having a galleried back.
The left hand pedestal cupboard is lined with shelves.
The right hand cupboard has a base drawer which is lined to take bottles with a shelf above. Above the twin pedestal are three ‘hidden’ drawers.
There is evidence of a repair to one of these drawers as someone had attached a piece of wood internally – see photo – this of course could be done more tastefully!
This is a beautiful piece of antique furniture – it’s big and imposing and commands the right space – it’s certainly a room changer!
It has a great patina that only comes with age and use! How many dinner parties had this piece witnessed I wonder??
There are some small scuffs and chips to the chiffonier as is to be expected with a piece of this age – but it in no way detracts from its beauty!
The chiffonier splits into three sections for ease of transport and moving.What would you do with this large piece? Leave as is? Re purpose for a kitchen worktop or perhaps put some sinks into the top and use in a large bathroom?
The possibilities are endless!
