Antique Blue Bureau desk
£245
Description
This is an attractive little antique bureau dating to the early 20th century.
It is fairly compact and is well made, fairly solid and heavy, made from mixed woods and veneers.
The bureau has a lockable fall front to the top which opens to reveal wooden pigeon holes for storing stationery, below these are three drawers which have drop handles.
The chest is set on cabriole style legs topped with a shell design.
I have hand painted the exterior in my own mix of water based dusky blue paint before distressing the finish for a gently aged look and finishing with clear wax.
The paintwork is solid colour and the finish has a fairly matt finish.
CONDITION
The bureau is in solid structural condition with various marks here and there, various dents scratches and knocks below the painted finish. There are a few old wood worm holes here and there and some of the cock beading around the drawers has suffered a little bit of damage.
The drawer interiors have marks of age and use and the felt to the pull out supports has worn with time.
