An early 1950s version of this iconic armchair known as “The Chair” which was designed by the renowned architect and furniture designer Hans J. Wegner for Johannes Hansen in 1949. Made in Denmark. Model JH 503. This Oak armchair has a wonderful aged patina to the grain and features a dark brown leather drop in seat.
The makers stamp is underneath the seat – Johannes Hansen Copenhagen Denmark. In good vintage condition with some indentations to the left hand side of the backrest as illustrated in one of the images.
