Phillipe Starck Armchair for Cassina
£6,000
Description
Enveloping armchair with metal shell swivelling on a central leg with a circular base, entirely upholstered in tawny leather, adjustable circular shelf on the right.
Like the 1970s Space Age aesthetic, these chairs have a very retro futuristic feel through their curved sculptural shape.
They were only 100 of these that were made: 44 for the Business Eurostar of “Gare du Nord” in Paris, France and 56 for the “Salon Business of the Eurostar terminal lounge in London, UK.
With over 20years of wear and tear the leather remains in quite good original condition and the structure remains extraordinarily solid – There is some wear and tear on this base and the back. But we will be making the necessary repairs to remove any blemishes that have appeared, thus getting them as close as possible back to their original state.
Please note that these are just 2 of 20 that we currently have in stock, but some need more work than others which will all be overhauled in our workshop.
