Ercol Rocking Chair Fleur De Lye Model 316 Windsor Hoop Back Chair

Description

A stunning piece of vintage and mid-century furniture in a beautiful rocking chair by Ercol furniture. The chair consists of a wooden hoop back rest in beech with eight spindles within the centre and a further two support spindles, with the centre there is a super stylized carved panel with the Fleur De Lye motif at the top, the chair has fabulous sweeping arms to each side and an elm seat, the rocking chair sits on four tapered legs with cross stretchers running in between that lead to the curved supports at the base that allow the chair to rock. The chair has been hand coloured with the back rests and legs ebonised in a fabulous black that gives an ebonised look, the chair’s seat has been hand sanded back to the original elm then French polished that gives an amazing contrast of colour of the natural wood against the black. The chair has been hand crafted by Ercol furniture with the chair known as the Fleur De Lye and is model number 316. The rocking chair has the Ercol kite mark underneath the seat along with the original blue Ercol makers label to the back of the seat and will all the seat poppers still in place. The chair is a fabulous piece of vintage and mid-century furniture with a wonderful look and design that would suit any home or environment.

Condition The chair is in superb condition, with the back rests and legs hand sanded back to the original wood then hand coloured in black then lacquered while each seat has been French polished and waxed.
