Description
A lovely example of a Victorian hall chair, this is an Aesthetic Movement piece made of oak and has an architectural broken crest above a spindle gallery, with an eight sided central metal panel painted in gilt and green with a classical figure playing a lyre. The front legs are carved at the top with flowers on three sides. This is a great piece which continues to function for its original purpose as a hall chair, this one having a comfortable wide seat making it a good place to sit down and put on footwear.
Dating to circa 1880, this is made of oak and originates from the UK.
In good age related condition.
