Scandinavian Leather Sofa by Ulferts Tibro for Lennart Bender, 1960s
This elegant three-seater leather sofa was designed by Lennart Bender and produced by the Swedish Ulferts Tibro during the 1960s. The frame is made of solid oak wood. The sofa was finished with natural leather in a wheat shade. The soft, loose seat and backrest cushions make comfort during use. The armrests are reinforced with an additional layer of padding. The sofa fits perfectly into the living room in a modern and classic style.
Uferts is a Swedish manufacturer known for designing furniture in the Mid-Century Modern style. Modernity in terms of MCM is a retreat from the decadence of previous eras and the related snobbish creativity – here are simple lines and simple shapes. They have their own unique charm, and their grace is enhanced by the ingenious use of colors and materials.
The sofa is in original vintage condition, with normal traces of age, patina on the leather. There are traces of leather repair under the left armrest. The seat is 42 cm high.
