A 19th century Anglo Indian padouk campaign table with detachable legs. The reeded legs are fitted with original long steel screws that firmly attach the legs to the table top.
This fine piece of campaign furniture was skilfully designed in 19th century flatpack as a portable table.
– Detachable legs that unscrew
– Three drawers
– Padouk, an Asian hardwood used in fine furniture making in the 19th century
– Carved border to the edge of the top with teardrop shaped pattern
and central palmette
– Tapered reeded legs, with turned collars
– Original turned wooden knobs to the drawers
– Peg construction, with visible ends, an indication of the originality of this piece of campaign furniture.
A stunning piece to add to a collection of campaign furniture, It would work well in any home as a writing table, dressing table or side table.
