Description
Spelter Figure of an Artist. An attractive figure of a man sat on a mount. The figure represents an artist at work with quill in hand. The figure is a romanticised image from the 16th century and has his sword and pallette close by. “Dessin” can be seen inscribed on his notepad indicating that the he is in the early stages of preparing his ‘masterpiece ‘. Originally the piece would likely have formed part of a clock and has been put onto a later base.
The piece is in good condition with only age related signs of wear.
