Description
A large 1960s vintage Studio Pottery early brutalist cylindrical ceramic vase by British ceramicist Bernard Rooke. The upper two-thirds features an incised abstract design which is reminiscent of a clock face and its inner workings in hues of golden browns with a matte finish. The lower third features a shagreen dappled polished glaze of different shades of olive green, dark brown and black which contrasts beautifully with the upper half.
“Rooke” is embossed into the bottom of the upper section as featured in the images.
In good vintage condition with some historical repairs from what I can see and a chip on the underside of the base as featured in the images.
