Suitcase typewriter Erika Daro 3 model 50/60 manufactured by the East German company VEB Robotron Rechen- und Schreibtechnik Dresden. This type 4702808 was made in 1973. The Erika company was the basis and inspiration for the production of many other machines such as Optima, Prasident, Aztecs, CBM, Robotron etc. Machines from the 50/60 series, which are respectively the fifth and sixth generation of Erika machines, constitute an indisputable typewriter model and are considered the canon of industrial design. The Erika company is one of the most important companies dealing in the production of writing machines in history, and the 30/40 series machines can be found as exhibits in many technical museums around the world.
The specimen is preserved in very good condition, with slight traces of use. The machine is operational, it only requires replacing the tape, which due to age has already dried up.
