Description
Georg Jensen Sterling Solid Silver rare cased set of six teaspoons in the Lily of the Valley Pattern.Georg Jensen was born in 1866 at a town called Raadvad, north of Copenhagen.
A small nearby marsh was filled with blue clay, which Georg played making small figures.
The local bricklayers would encourage young Georg and praise his works, his father Jorgen Jensen was also a big influence in his creative play.
The rest is history as they say!
The Danish hallmarking system used 826S until 1915 until silversmiths raised their silver content to 830 and eventually to 925.
Georg Jensen did not switch to the sterling standard until 1927 although he occasionally made special orders in 925S for the American market much earlier.
Until 1961 Danish silver was identified by a stamp with three towers.
After that an 830S or 925S was used.
