Beautiful very nice Italian solid poplar and cherry wood kitchen table, 1850s. The table is very simple and linear, characterized by solid straight legs. Equipped with a drawer and a practical internal compartment. The top of this table opens like a book page and doubles in size to accommodate more guests at the table. This type of tables in the 19th century were used in the kitchens of Italian families and the women prepared the dough for the pasta on the open top and left it in the internal compartment during the leavening time.
