Description
A rare, striking and beautifully designed Italian floor lamp constructed from alternate, interlocking, identical, silver squares with brass edges. This beautiful lamp was designed by Gaetano Sciolari for Sciolari Lighting during the 1970s. The vertical and horizontal interlocking squares (which are reminiscent of a jigsaw puzzle) are covered with plastic silver facings which cover the metal frame underneath. The horizontal supporting squares hold all the vertical squares in place. A rectangular square section of brass piping is fitted to the top of the lamp and holds the bulb socket and shade in place.
In good vintage condition with some tarnishing to the brass edges in places. The wiring has been checked by an electrician.
Dimensions:
Height to the top of the bulb socket: 107 cm
Height to the top of the shade: 152 cm
Width: 27.5 cm
Depth: 27.5 cm
