Kaiser Frosted Glass Wall Lights, 1970s
Delivering from: London, United Kingdom (UK)
Pair of 1970s frosted iced-glass wall sconces or wall lights manufactured by the upmarket German light manufacturer Kaiser Leuchten.
The rectangular heavy thick textured glass sits on a aluminium metal frame which screws easily into the wall. The glass shade is secured onto the frame by two chromed-steel decorative screws at the top and the bottom of the middle of each shade which makes the access to the bulbs very easy whenever they need replacing. The outside of the sconce is smooth whilst the inside has rough glass particles attached which gives the iced-glass frosted illusion. The sconces are in very good vintage condition with some slight discolouration on the bottom of the shade which is barely noticeable.
Two E14 screw in bulbs are required at either end of the lamp facing inwards. The wall lights are designed for a bathroom. A brown plastic on/off switch is fitted the the top and a socket for toothbrushes or razors is fitted to the base. Therefore making them a perfect fit for a bathroom perhaps each side of the mirror above the wash basin. A clever design and very well made.
