This modernist Carlton armchair with a footstool was produced by the Swedish company IKEA in 1963. This is a model with a high backrest. The frame is made of oak wood in a light shade of wood. The high backrest is slightly tilted, which affects the comfort when using it. The armchair with the footrest is upholstered in the original blue-gray fabric with a thicker weave. The set is a perfect example of Scandinavian design of the Mid-Century Modern era. Original IKEA furniture from the 1960s is sought after by museums and private collectors around the world. It’s a piece of great design history that’s still in use today. The armchair has a signature.
