Pair of 19th Century Yew & Elm Windsor Chairs
Delivering from: Newark, United Kingdom (UK)
£1,560
Description
A superb pair of Windsor yew and elm armchairs, carved with a attractive turned draft or roundels to the centre of the pierced back splats, both have yew wood spindles, bentwood arms, turned legs and H stretchers and wonderful big elm seats.
This pairs of Windsor chairs are broad in the seat and designed as fire side chairs being marginally lower than a dining chair, they have not been cut down nor reduced in height but have been specifically designed as inviting chairs for relaxed comfortable seating rather than up right seating.
They would look wonderful in a country house kitchen by a fireside, all that would then be required is a glass of wine and a good book!
In good age related condition, one seat has a few historic signs of worm, which is inactive and has been treated.
Elm and Yew, 19th century, English
